I get this every winter. Remote start will work fine, then some random time it decides not to. Then it gives remote start disabled every time, even mild temperatures like minus 4 C. Disconnecting the battery for a while then reconnecting gets it to start working fine again. So I'd say it's a computer problem as opposed to a mechanical problem.If it is older and a little weak, the remote start may not work. Not that it sounds like an issue with you, but if you have below 1/4 tank (I believe) of fuel, remote start is also disabled.
